Shoqodoon logo:Shaqodoon Organization is an offshoot of the USAID funded EDC project Somali Youth Livelihood program, (SYLP) /Shaqodoon that provided livelihood skills, training and employment opportunities to Somali Youth; Shaqodoon is a Somali word for Job Seeker. Shaqodoon Organization was started by former EDC senior staff who decided to continue with the important activities of that program which includes: vocational skills training, job placement, entrepreneurship work readiness and financial literacy training using varies methodology effective methodologies including in class, through interactive audio instruction and use of InfoMatch SMS and Voice based mobile system. CBOs

Hargabits work directly with organizations that serve our target communities. One of the major roles of the CBOs/CSOs is to recommend to Hargabits vulnerable youth from the communities using a set and agreed upon criteria.  We also liaise with the CBOs/CSOs on issues of follow up. The youth trained at Hargabits are expected to go back to their communities and share some of the skills acquired with their peers under the supervision and support of the CBO/CSO.
